Rolous Temple
Roluos is the site or an ancient’s center of Khmer Civilization known as Hariharalaya, located about 12kilometers from Siem Reap town. It includes three temples, Preah Kor, Bankong and Lolei. After King Jayavarman II established his capital on Phnom Kulen in AD 802 inaugurating the Angkor Period, soon afterward the moved the capital back to Roluos perhaps for a better source of food or for defense purpose. King Jayavarman II died at Roluos in AD 850. It is generally believed that his successors remained there until the capital was mored to Ba Kheng in AD 905.
